Meet at St Martin’s Church, St Martin’s Rd. 

 

Historian Chris Matthews will be leading a walk through Old Bilborough, Strelley Village and the Bilborough council estate. We’ll be looking at the medieval origins of Bilborough, one of the earliest coal fields in Nottinghamshire, green belt countryside, prefabs, post-war planning and modernist churches. As we walk, we will record the words that spring to mind - these will be used as part of the Wordfest performance on Friday 7th July. 

Finishing at Bilborough Library on Bracebridge Drive, to enjoy the Craft Fair and exhibition at 1pm.  Free.
